Congratulations to ...

Breanna Micyus, a veterinary technician student at Baker College-Clinton Township, attended the MAVT mock exam and won the drawing for a free hotel room and admission to the MAVT Fall Conference. The Michigan Association of Veterinary Technicians (MAVT) is also pleased to announce the winners of our 2009 scholarships. Lianna Nagle, a Baker College of Clinton Township veterinary technician student, took top honors earning a $500 MAVT Student Scholarship award with her essay on the Human-Animal Bond. The Ann Wortinger $250 Nutritional Scholarship, sponsored by Michigan Veterinary Specialists, was won by Henry Crosson, a Wayne County Community College student. Henry’s winning essay about reptilian nutrition will be featured in an upcoming issue of the VET TECH insider, the quarterly publication of the MAVT. Both students will also receive free admittance to the 2009 MAVT Fall Conference, where their scholarship awards will be presented. Go to www.mavt.us for more information regarding the MAVT Fall Conference. The winner of our early bird conference registration contest is Amy Schupska!
