My name is Elsie Velazquez and I am the new recording secretary for the MAVT. I have been an LVT in the state of Michigan since my graduation from MSU in 1987. Currently I am faculty for the veterinary technology program at Baker College of Flint. I have worked primarily in small animal private practice and emergency medicine.

I have been married to my husband Gary for 14 years. We have two daughters Alexis (10 yrs) and Jessica (8 yrs). We have two Jack Russell terriers, Rosie and Joey. In my spare time, I spend a lot of time at my daughter’s dance studio and also soccer fields. Yes, I am turning into “that soccer mom”. I also like to scrapbook and read when I get the chance.

I look forward to serving on the Executive Board for the MAVT and I am getting increasingly excited about the future of our profession!
