MAVT Scholarship Programs
Scholarships are awarded yearly to first- and second-year students enrolled in a Michigan Veterinary Technology Program. The scholarships are presented to notable veterinary technology students who possess qualities of leadership, academic excellence, and career potential. The winning scholarship entries are selected by members of the MAVT Scholarship Committee.

 

MAVT Student Scholarship

 This scholarship is open to all first and second year veterinary technology students who are a current member of MAVT. To become a member visit the MAVT website at www.mavt.us to print an application. The student must complete a 500 word essay on the topic of “The Importance of Professional Career Goals”. The essays will be evaluated on topic, content, grammar, and professionalism. The essays will be evaluated by the MAVT scholarship committee and may be featured in the MAVT Newsletter or on the MAVT website.

Please submit essays no later than May 1st 2010. The recipient of the award will be notified by June 1st 2010 and will receive a check for $500.00 and free admittance to the MAVT fall conference where the scholarship will be presented. The winning essay may appear in a future newsletter or on the MAVT website.

 

Ann Wortinger, LVT, VTS (emergency critical care)

 Michigan Veterinary Specialists is honored to offer the

“Ann Wortinger Nutritional Scholarship Award”

 

This award is in recognition of Ann’s continued commitment to veterinary technology, and the importance of good nutrition for dogs and cats.

 The scholarship is open to all first and second year students actively enrolled in a veterinary technology program in the state of Michigan.  The student must complete a 500 word essay on the Nutritional topic of their choice.  The essays will be evaluated on topic, content, grammar, and professionalism.  The essays will be evaluated by the MAVT scholarship committee. Essays may be featured in the MAVT Newsletter or on the MAVT website.
